This is an exciting opportunity to learn the varied art of free- machine embroidery with Dawn Ireland, an experienced textile artist whose work has been sold in shops across the UK, USA and Europe including Liberty, Paperchase, Harrods, Heals and John Lewis. Dawn has also produced a range of framed original art pieces for Habitat which were exhibited and sold in their stores across the country and her work has featured in magazines such as Home and Gardens.
Free-machine embroidery teaches you how to draw with thread on fabric so that you can create your own individual piece of textile ‘art’ that you can either frame as a picture or use to create a bag, cushion cover or item of your choice.
During the workshop, you will experiment with free-machine embroidery techniques using applique fabric shapes on a background fabric to create a series of samples and a finished piece to take home at the end of the session.
You can either:
1.book an individual session
2. block book a course of four for a 20% discount
3. block book a course of five and create a piece that can be turned into a unique lampshade. Session five will be used to help you to create your lampshade and includes all materials to do so.
